Casino Queen by Wilco is a classic rock song that was released in 1995. It is a dark, comical, cynical take on a gambling story that was inspired by the Casino Queen, a real riverboat casino on the Mississippi River in the USA. The song was written by Jeff Tweedy at the request of his father.

It is a straightforward song about being down on your luck at the casino. The guitar riff at the very beginning is a real stinger, and the song even features a cowbell.

The riverboat casino itself is a gambling option that has only really been historically available in the United States. Most foreign countries do not operate riverboat casinos, and a large number of countries are just starting to legalize any form of gambling. For example, in Korea, all you have are approximately 18 hotels that also offer casinos as part of their amenities. All are traditional land-based hotels and none offer anything remotely tied to a riverboat.  What Korea does have, however, is a fully developed online casino culture.
